Some free web mail services will bounce or refuse the initial welcome e-mail sent from the SPI Portal sign-up form.
When
this occurs, SPI receives an error and possibly deletes the new account
from the portal. The assumption is that if the message bounced,
you never received the initial password, and the simplest solution is
for you to re-create your account. This will not be done for
existing, active accounts.
So, if you are using such a service successfully for your Portal
access, but your co-worker has not been successful with their own, this
may be the cause. We apologize, but needed to let you know of
this possible hiccup in signing up for the portal.
